In all the years our family visited our cabin near Fryburg, PA we have never ventured over to check out Gettysburg. Mom, Dad, Ryan and I did a joint/overlapping vacation over the July 4th weekend. They joined us for this park.

Ryan caught up with his buddy Abe |
They had a real neat "re-enactment" based on a painting on the ceiling. There were various segments of the Battle of Gettysburg painted on the ceiling and as they discussed different aspects of the war they lit up those areas. The following are a few photos of those parts.

Johnstown Flood Pictures seem to have disappeared. Did not have the photo storage options as
we do today. Will add if we run across them. We've shared that story a few times. The flood is not well known history to most today; however, it was the biggest news since the assassination of President Lincoln in the late 19th century. It was a devastating flood that could have potentially been prevented if it were not for greed. It entailed a wealthy resort, an intense storm an unfortunate failure of a dam, the destruction of a working class city and an inspiring relief effort. Over 2200 people lost their lives in Johnstown.
