We arrived at Sherm and Pat's house in Kingman, AZ pretty late (midnight-ish I think) on the previous night, to a very full garage with just enough space for us to pull right in.  Stewey opted to give up his guest bed for an air mattress so that Shannon and I could have the bed.  Not necessary but we appreciated the gesture and accepted since it was late and everyone was tired and making Stewey move everything back would have been a chore I'm sure.

Stewey is headed back to Chicago after buying Sherm's Whitewing (White Goldwing actually lol) and so Sherm planned to ride with him for a spell to show off some of Rt 66 and to see him off. So I opted to join the short ride.
Shannon didn't join us because we were a little behind on work.  She stayed behind and concentrated on client needs while I took off to see some of the mother road and spend a little time with Stewey and Sherm.  First stop above was Hackberry where we had a soda pop and checked out the joint and then we went on down to the Gas n Grub where Stewey broke off and twisted the grip headed for the Windy City.  Sherm and I had an ice cream cone and visited with the locals for a minute before we headed back.

After getting back, Sherm helped me install the J&M Bluetooth dongles for the cell phone.  We had to ride up to  http://www.laughlinriverrun.com/ to get some assistance from the J&M techs setting up their display for the rally because we couldn't figure out how to get the grip loose.  $20 later and my first trip to Laughlin, NV later, we got home and got the job done. 
 
Sherm is awesome and I could not have done it without him!  Several of the photos were taken by Sherm.  We opted to head for Vegas to get a jump on securing storage for the bike so we headed out just before sunset and grabbed dinner at 5 Guys on the way out of town, my first experience eating there.  Not bad for a fast-ish food burger joint.

Beautiful New Mexico sunrise The area that has no Cow Crossing signs...has cow's crossing! Iceland Day 9 (Hraunfossar, Blue Lagoon, Reykjanesbaer Peninsula)

  This was Ryan's lucky day!  He stopped in to the 66 station for a cup of coffee...and scored a free coffee!  He's drank a lot less coffee than normal on this trip - a combination of the highway robbery for a cup of Joe and his being sick.  Typically these 8-10oz cups ran from $3.50-5. -Shannon Was I happy for that coffee! -Ryan We stopped for breakfast at a bakery in Grindavik and shared a chocolate covered cinnamon roll. Maybe they forget the year with how time moves? -Ryan The first hint of an accident we saw on the entire island.  -Ryan The lagoon is a very odd whitish-blue and almost iridescent with a strong sulfur smell.  This is a very expensive place and by far a tourist trap attached to a high-end hotel  I was happy to see it and move on with out leaving any money.  We did learn about a hot river that is free, and if we ever go back, we'll hike in there and do it freestyle! -Ryan The first ...

Day 7 - Flaming Gorge to Tetons

We left Nephi and thought Garmen was headed the same way I thought in my mind...well, we were wrong.  However, this little detour on Provo Canyon Road turned into quite a treat.  Lots of waterfalls, hills, mountains and twisties! Didn't stop here since it was only time for beakfast. Liked the name.   I just love all of the rolling colors. Throughout the area near the Flaming Gorge, there are these cool info signs with geological info and descriptions of their meanings or perhaps something that happened in this area in the Prehistoric Era.   One of the greatest byways in Utah!!  Rode it in the car last fall..had to loop back on the back...Glad we did - it was awesome!!!  (despite the rain and clouds) It was quite overcast and at times rainy while in the Gorge.  Sunlight definitely creates the difference in this magical area!   Our initial shot ...
