We prefer to take different routes when possible, but this trip was a little more difficult to plan on the fly because our communication was system was down. |
Carlsbad caverns has a nice cave, but we passed on the tour as we sometimes do. However, this visitor center was far nicer than most with a huge gift store and big cafeteria style deli. We found some very nice shirts here.

Yummy carbon tacos! I know cars love them.... |

The wind blowing through this mountain pass was very strong and cool! |
Chamizal is an urban park right on the US/MX border in El Paso, TX that commemorates the peaceful land treaty of an international border. No shots fired... It's called the Peace Park. That sure makes this a very rare park as far as park designations go. There was also very few people here for being so close to downtown El Paso. I would say it is more like a normal city park with a visitor center containing a small museum.

This was visible for miles...after 50+ attempts I got a clear shot! |
We both enjoyed the white sand park and the white sand in it. We do enjoy sand dunes as a general rule and the phenomena of how the sand get there and stays there. The white sand here is so fine it is like a powder! Its amazing how white the sand was. Good thing it wasn't too cool or we would have thought it was snow.
