Jefferson Memorial Arch and Fort Smith, AR

We made two road trips back and forth down to McKinney, TX to meet and learn about the CProfit franchise and then again for training in August and September of 2010.  Along the way, we stopped at the St Louis Arch, Fort Smith, George Rogers Clark NM, George Washington Carver NM, Oklahoma City Bombing NM, and Hot Springs National Park.  We've combined the pictures from the trip together.

Impressive every time I see it!

A view from the top

The stairs up to the top of the arch. Quite an interesting hand rail.

Take off our sunglasses, Shannon says, So we can squint?  I say???
Much Better!  Look at those smiles!

We are dwarfed against the arch.  We are not even as tall as one "small" section of the arch.

Our first Kum & Go encounter was not as fun as one would think.  It seemed much more like the oldest profession in that that they took our money.

Locked up...where he belongs some times!!  lol

Ryan has always thought that he is living in the wrong era.  Here is what the picture would have looked like if he were in the 1800s.

The site used for hanging.

The floor that would be dropped during a hanging.
George Rogers Clark National Monument is located in Vincennes, IN about an hour from where Ryan's family lives in southern Indiana and he went to college years ago.  He has been here before but it was my first time.

Awesome concrete work.

Founded 1732!  Did you see that!  Wow!

A very neat view of the Last Supper lit up in the altar

Oklahoma City Bombing NM Visitor Center/Museum - our first "city" national memorial.  Parking and navigation was a bit different than the traditional NP that is self contained.

The eastern wall marks the last moment of peace at 9:01am before the bomb went off at 9:02.

The reflection pool looking over to the western wall with 9:03 inscribed - the moment of recovery.  The field of empty chairs to the south represent the 168 victims.

168 chairs represent the victims. Smaller chairs represent the children in the daycare.

Early on we were practicing the selfie, before we figured it to be useful with the actual signs so we can remember where we have been.

A map of the area

Hot Springs National Park - our first NP that is actually an entire town.  We were expecting "hot springs" as found out west near Yellowstone; however, we were in for an educational experience.

Most of the springs have been capped and are pumped into the bath houses.

Indoor Plumbing inside the old bath houses.

While in the bathhouse, I got a massage and Ryan enjoyed one of the bath hot tubs.

While we were visiting Hot Springs, there was a motorcycle festival of sorts going on.  Many unique and decorated bikes.  Here are a few of our favorites.

Way more chrome on this bike than we would ever want to deal with.
