Orlando then a dose of National Wildlife Refuges

The purpose of this trip was to attend an Accounting Conference at Disney.  Only a couple photos to share from the conference and then we were on our way to the west.

We wouldn't have known we were at Disney until the last day when they served Mickey treats - Icecream bars, pretzels and rice krispie treats...all shaped like Mickey.

Shannon was the Grand Prize winner of the TSheets raffle during the conference.  $1000!!!  That should pay for the trip west to Vegas!  TSheets is an awesome time tracking app that we recommend as a solution to our clients.  Dan and Danny are two of the wonder employees on the team.  TSheets is based in Idaho...we visited their home office a couple years ago.

Met up with my cousin Jeff who lives near Tampa.

Spent a couple days with Ryan's former driver, Terry and Billie. Ryan hung out with them checking out retired life while I caught up on client calls.

Didn't get so luck at this NWR...it was all sand roads...we turned around.  It is at this point that we started realizing that not all NWR will be Motorcycle friendly.

We learned something new...there are lots of bears in Florida.  Not something either of in knew.

Lots of state and national wildflower areas.

Lots of state and national wildflower areas.

Just north of Tampa we picked up the coastal highway on the west.  We would continue to follow birding trails through FL, AL, MS, LA, and TX over the next week.

St Mark's NWR was a neat area.  We saw the lighthouse, a turtle, jumping fish, and various birds.  The jumping fish were hard to catch because they were everywhere!

Got a photo of a bald eagle...ok, so it's inside a visitors center...one of these days I'll get to see the real thing!!!

St. Mark's Lighthouse

Splash from one of the jumping fish

Florida softshell turtle that was crossing the road

A common sight that we saw- brown Pelicans hanging out on fence posts.

If you look close at the sign, you'll see that this is a common bear crossing area...right along the ocean!

Pelicans often would fly along the coast...as if they have their own coastal "Fly-way"!

We are 4524 miles from home!

Gulf Islands National Seashore is a Beautiful area

A view of how the Pelicans fly in relation to the bridges and causeways.

We both fell in love with this sign in our hotel room for the night.
