Gallup to Parumph, Wrap-up

Beautiful New Mexico sunrise

The area that has no Cow Crossing signs...has cow's crossing!

Window Rock, NM

His truck was loaded down.  Unsure if he lives in it or sells out of it??

We made it back here...and it was actually opened!!

Stage Coach

We were able to walk around the whole ranch

The trading post is still open for business and operational.

Lots of old shotguns.

Interesting that Hubbel Trading Post has Dr Pepper but the Dr Pepper soda shop in OK does not!  We had an orange cream soda

They sell the "famous Arbuckles" coffee...but do not offer some that they brew daily and charge $1.

In the barn

Beautiful New Mexico landscape

We saw this for miles...the two lines went parallel for quite a while...we determine it had to be airforce or someone doing some sort of practice.

We rode 66 for a while today.  We are in search of moisture wicking shirts...great for the bike...but no one seems to carry them.  They go for aesthetics over function.  Oh well...their loss

The Dog Haus...with a drive thru the middle.

We had to stop and see our favorite person in Kingman, AZ.  Too bad Sherm was travelling back from Boscobel.  Next time!

Sherm's truck did get a new hood ornament...the following week it got replace with a new truck!

Arrived in Kingman it was 109...left and it was 114..and climbing

We stopped twice between Kingman and Vegas Car rental...it is in these temps that I soak myself in the bathroom sinks...the "coolness" lasts about 10min.  The desert is tough.  Ryan said it hit 120 as a high today as he was riding out of Las Vegas toward Pahrump.  Fortunately/Unfortunately, I was dealing with the horrible folks at Hertz trying to get my rental car. It took an hour and a half to get a rental car out the door.

A bunny with long floppy ears outside Jim's house.  Our friend Jim is housing our bike for us while we are not riding it. He lives out in Pahrump, NV.

Unfortunately, Jim would be out of town until after we got back so we made ourselves at home.  We spent the next day and a half unpacking, cleaning, packing for our next trip, and working with clients.  Jim was so kind to clear out our storage unit in Vegas a few months back so we also went through what we had and brought the excess home.  We had a 1pm flight back to Honolulu on Wednesday.

A beautiful Pahrump desert sunset

We've been stateside for 50 days riding a combination of both bikes and my car.  We've seen lots of great friends and family, beautiful coastlines, countless birds and animals, 21 National Parks, 6 National Wildlife Refuges, a lot of beautiful scenery, and held many late night conference calls with clients...our Work Life Balance!!  The Red wing ended at 30,809 miles which means we put 6,808 miles on her the first couple days and the past 2 weeks.  It was a wonderful adventure to ride the east and southern coasts through many areas neither of us have ever been.  We added FL to our riding map and Shannon also added LA.  Thanks for joining in our adventure!
