Boomer 'n Shannon - Cruise'n the Country

  Woohoo, interstate highway driving...   While we try to avoid this type of travel, the fact that we fill every single day with exciting trips, sometimes we have no choice but to get from point A to point B in the shortest amount of time.  Well that was today.  Here are the highlights of this stretch of road.       The National Park Service's campaign in 2015-16 is "Find your Park". We have so many favorites we could never name just 1. Utah alone houses multiple of our faves!   Beautiful wildflowers lined the highways. Unfortunately, yellow and 80mph do not go well together.  We got a kick out of these signs in Utah in June. Finally got a photo. "Insert Punchline here!" Well, as crazy as we are, the decision to 'hit' Glacier National Park on our way back to Vegas from Mountain Home, ID was a work out for sure!  While most of the trip was really good, it rained all through Glacier, we didn't get to see any glaciers, the Going to the Sun Road was closed due to wildfires, and it got 'REALLY' cold headed back south.  So much so that we put on every dry and clean (or not) thing we had.  It was low 30's before we reached the motel folks!  We couldn't call it a night early because we had a 8am flight out of Vegas the following day.  I'm so glad we went.       On my bucket list for a long time!   The majority of our time in Glacier was in the pouring rain...I apologize that 95% of these pictures were taken through the showercap that you see in this RVM pic.  Not ideal...but we drove about 1000 miles out of the way to add Glacier into our trip.
