Day 7 - Flaming Gorge to Tetons

We left Nephi and thought Garmen was headed the same way I thought in my mind...well, we were wrong.  However, this little detour on Provo Canyon Road turned into quite a treat.  Lots of waterfalls, hills, mountains and twisties!

Didn't stop here since it was only time for beakfast. Liked the name.

I just love all of the rolling colors.

Throughout the area near the Flaming Gorge, there are these cool info signs with geological info and descriptions of their meanings or perhaps something that happened in this area in the Prehistoric Era.

One of the greatest byways in Utah!!  Rode it in the car last fall..had to loop back on the back...Glad we did - it was awesome!!!  (despite the rain and clouds)

It was quite overcast and at times rainy while in the Gorge.  Sunlight definitely creates the difference in this magical area!

Our initial shot - a rain shot
Couldn't leave without a decent, rain shot!  No helmets this time!

This could have been a great shot ...about 50 mph slower.

The sun tries to peek out as the black clouds are circling...yes, more rain!!

In these parts, they build a wildgame bridge over the highway. I wonder how the animals know about this route?? Do they have a GPS or something??  lol

Clouds were putting on a show after the rain..

Rainbow stuck in the rain...with a slight double!

The rain heading north to Tetons was worth it for the awesome rainbow show later!

The one time a sign proves correct!

When leaving the west entrance to Tetons and headed to our hotel for the night, we were surprised to see our 3rd moose for the day.  This one decided to run down the mountain side and run into the road in front of us...he realized he was no match and gracefully copped out.  Quite an awesome and rare view of a moose to be so active!

I was fascinated with the fingernail moon...despite the blur, the moon shows quite well!

Here is the alternative

We were luck to catch this little bar open, Wydaho.  The entire town shut down at 10pm.  20 min to order!
