ATL to OH to MI to OH to ATL to OH and Bike Moves & East meets West

We originally were coming to the mainland for Mothers Day and client appts in OH for two weeks, supposed to return to HI for 13 days before flying back to ATL for a conference in Orlando.  Two days before flying out, we decided that we did not have enough commitments in HNL to warrant 30 hrs of flight time only to return back so that extended our mainland trip to 7.5 weeks. Most times we can work from anywhere with a good internet connection so we were not phased by this additional time to visit with friends and family while not working.  We also had some bike movements that needed to happen so the extra time gave us a more comfortable timeframe.
Since Randy was not home when we arrived, I had to get a photo of me and his Randy-sen.

Biked rolled over to 24,000 miles when Randy took it to get an oil change between our trips.
I took several test shots as we rode up the highway between Acworth and Franklin, NC to test the speed and clarity of my new Canon G3x. This canon is a hybrid Manual-Auto Camera that does not require the need to change lenses. It is weathersealed.  I have a love/hate relationship with this move...I love my other cameras and this is a bit heavier ...but weather sealed for the bike is important.

We rode 3 hours north to visit with Mark and Wanda Hicks for the night near Franklin, NC.  Great to have a nice short ride...get the riding fever a little taste then get to relax with friends before the big ride to OH tomorrow.

Wanda's Mountain Laurel...she said that would be in full bloom within the next week.  We are a bit too early!

Mark's arch-enemy...the squirrels who steal from his bird feeders.

Views from outside the cabin. I could spend many hours a day looking at their feeders and out the windows.  While I was walking out to the bike I'm pretty sure I heard the resident black bear...but didn't see him.

We stopped by one of the Smokey Mountain NP visitors centers on our way north...found these beautiful blooms in the entryway.

East meets West...for the first time.

Ryan with "Sunni" and Shannon with "Sini" or as Ryan refers to them as "W" and "K".  The Yellow Wing has resided at Marion Sheppard's in Waterford, MI for the past year while the Red Wing normally lives in Vegas but has come east to Atlanta to Randy Fitch's place in Acworth, GA for the winter.  The Red Wing will be making it's way back to Vegas later this month. Due to the unfortunate death of Marion, the Yellow wing will relocate to Randy's.

They share my dad's shed for approx. 5 days.

This is the closest National Park site to where we used to live in Swanton, OH; however, it only became a NP site in 2010 and has never been convenient to hit it ...until now.

Randy and Brenda joined us as we visted the MLK NHS in downtown Atlanta.
Birds who took up residence in my mom's light fixture.

Thanks to the guys at Ehlerding Honda in Fort Wayne, we learned about Iron Pony...the best Motorcycle store in the world!!!!  They have everything you can imagine...in their showroom.  We spent too much time here...and money!  We took advantage of out of season heated gear so we are outfitted with what we need when we venture to Alaska in the next year or so.
