April 19, 2015 - Deming, NM to Tucson, AZ 501 miles and 3 National Parks Our adventure for the day started out with a gas station trying to rip us off for gas about $1.50 more per gallon than any surrounding stations, except that there were none for about 50 miles of were we wanted to go. So I opted to "risk it". We didn't get too far before we were on a gravel road going into Fort Bowie. After getting there, we found out we had a 3.5 mile hike to get to the visitor center. The sign was off, it was another 1/4 mile at the 1.5 mark... lol In desert and full sun, we weren't quite dressed right though. The spring bringing water to the valley and the reason this area was settled. Typical Indian hut for that era. Old building walls for the Indian Center on the base. Look at them feet!
