501 miles and 3 National Parks

Our adventure for the day started out with a gas station trying to rip us off for gas about $1.50 more per gallon than any surrounding stations, except that there were none for about 50 miles of were we wanted to go. So I opted to "risk it".  We didn't get too far before we were on a gravel road going into Fort Bowie.  After getting there, we found out we had a 3.5 mile hike to get to the visitor center.
The sign was off, it was another 1/4 mile at the 1.5 mark... lol  In desert and full sun, we weren't quite dressed right though.

The spring bringing water to the valley and the
reason this area was settled.

Typical Indian hut for that era.

Old building walls for the Indian Center on the base.

Look at them feet!  They look like a spiders on each foot!
The dancing cacti!

The mirage in the dessert...the parking lot - only 1.75miles to go!!

We look a little outta place amongst all these SUV's!! lol

Why did the cow cross the road??

This is a great formations park.  The landscape is truly amazing here.

Looks like faces in the stones

Notice the nice sun hats?

These pictures show the information billboards and some of the more famous formations in the park.  It would take a couple days to hike to all the great places to see.  And that just isn't possible for us to take the kind of time its takes to see it all.

Rainbow Feather Cloud

That mountain needs a shave!

Shannon dove out in the desert to get cacti sunset pictures and learned why to avoid cactus. It took several hours to get them all removed from her skin and clothes.  But the pictures sure are nice!  She's unstoppable!
