ES 3 - Church of Ozarks, Thorncrown Chapel and Cresent Hotel

Before the wedding festivities were to begin, Lanny took Ryan and I on an early morning ride to check out the Thorncrown Chapel, Cresent Hotel and Church of the Ozarks.  There are some awesome places in close proximity to Eureka Springs.

Thorncrown Chapel is a beautiful place of solitude.  It has a neat story on it's creation.

I was quite intrigued by the reflection of the crosses against the trees outside.

We took a drive through the historic district...

..our destination was the Crescent Hotel.  It was great having Lanny as our "tour guide" because he took us to the hot spots that we didn't know we needed to hit.  This was our first time in ES.

We went upstairs to get a view of Christ of the Ozarks from the top floor...unfortunately, the ghosts locked the door and we couldn't get a view.  Instead, our prize was this time machine.

I love the illusion of these staircases.  Reminds me of my science project in junior high on Optical Illusions.

Driving by, you wouldn't know there is an underground spring on the side of the road.

There were no tours or plays going on today; however, we were free to go in and check things out.  Neat place!

I had fun playing with some of the creative filters on my new camera...This, while not completely centered, had a neat effect of the powerful statue.
